Special Exhibits —
Artifacts That Illuminate Motive, Method, and Mind

Our Special Exhibits showcase rare, original artifacts that offer direct, tangible links to some of America's most notorious criminal cases. Each item—whether a handwritten letter, personal belonging, investigative document, or reconstructed crime-scene piece—serves as a primary source that deepens understanding beyond headlines and hearsay. These objects help visitors trace patterns of behavior, examine the evidence that shaped prosecutions, and confront the human realities behind sensationalized stories. Curated with strict ethical standards and contextual interpretation by American profiler Phil Chalmers, the exhibits are designed to educate and provoke thoughtful reflection: artifacts are not souvenirs, but forensic witnesses that reveal the interplay of personality, opportunity, and consequence. As you move through the displays, consider how each piece helps answer critical questions about motive, method, and the systems that respond to violent crime.
