The Mindhunter Room

130+ cases line a single wall — the museum's largest room, and the one that maps the whole landscape of American murder.

The Mindhunter Room is where the whole story begins — one long wall of more than 130 profiles, from H.H. Holmes to Ted Bundy, Charles Manson to Richard Ramirez.

Between the panels sit the primary sources: handwritten letters, inmate artwork, personal belongings, and case documents. Profiler Phil Chalmers has interviewed many of the men on these walls — Manson among them — and the room is built to answer the questions that matter: motive, method, and the systems that respond to violent crime.

The "Helter Skelter" Manuscript

A handwritten “Helter Skelter” legal pad tied to the Manson murders — one of the room's centerpiece documents.

Displayed alongside personal items connected to the Manson Family case, it anchors a wall that runs from the birth of American profiling to its most infamous names.
